Tech Ed
Technology Education is an exciting combination of many subjects, popularly referred to as STEM: the integration of science, technology, engineering and math into our curriculum, rooted in the engineering design process. Tech Ed is a great opportunity to see and learn how all of these fields work together. We live in a global world, and it is now more important than ever that our children learn problem solving, teamwork, and written and verbal communication in order to be successful.
Sixth- and seventh-grade students each have one semester of Tech Ed with many engineering design challenges. Some of the most exciting include robotics with Lego Mindstorm robots, principles of space and flight, design of CO2 race cars, construction of Rube Goldberg machines, and achieving sustainable design ... all while using the engineering design process.
Students who are interested in an extra challenge are encouraged to join the school's Lego League Team; more information about that team is available on our site.
