Tech Ed Students Take Flight
the Seventh-Grade Team
During the month of October, Tech Ed students explored the principles of flight and lift. Students spent time creating and exploring airfoils (wings). After learning the basics, students worked in groups to create their very own flying machines.
The engineering design process came in handy throughout the project. Students began by learning about the mechanics of flight and what an airfoil looks like. They then brainstormed and created sketches of their ideas. After their first prototypes were built and tested, students resigned and tested again. They concluded with a class share of their findings and a short summary to communicate their results.
