East Tipp Middle School held various fundraisers in February and March for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Indiana. The efforts were so successful, students and staff raised $22,301 for the organization. LLS recently announced East Tipp is the top school fundraiser in the state and came in seventh in the nation.

“As a teacher at East Tipp, I am continually amazed by the work that the kids, families, and staff do for those in need,” says math teacher Tom Rice. “Many students donate their time and money without thinking it’s anything special; they just help because they feel it’s the right thing to do. I hope the national ranking helps them all to realize what an uncommon effort it is that they are making.”

East Tipp organizes a drive for LLS during every other school year; the school has sent just over $100,000 to LLS since 2010.
