Fitness testing for sixth grade
Fitness testing for sixth grade

Each year, students will be analyzing their overall fitness by completing a series of tests and measurements to see how their overall health has improved from the beginning of the school year. 6th grade students will be tested on aerobic capacity/lung endurance- in the mile run, pull-ups and flexed arm hangs- upper body strength, sit and reach- flexibility, curl-ups- abdominal strength, and overall speed and agility- in the shuttle run/sprint.

During the East Tipp Awards ceremony, there will be multiple categories of awards from National, Presidential, and Top Three Awards for each category of our testing. Sixth graders have been working hard this past week and will continue into next week. Several students have set milestones for the school, and they enjoy seeing their results after each activity in our physical testing. It is really fun to see their excitement after achieving a score or a time that they had set for themselves, or going above and beyond in a certain area of their Fitness.
